In Christian tradition, St. Gabriel refers to the Archangel Gabriel, who is one of the three named archangels in the Bible (along with Michael and Raphael).

Gabriel is best known for delivering important messages from God, such as announcing to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive Jesus (the Annunciation). He also appeared to Zechariah to announce the birth of John the Baptist.
